Began studying calligraphy at fourteen with Tim O' Neill MA at St.Benildus College, Kilmacud. Mr. O'Neill was then the only art teacher in the country with specialist knowledge of calligraphy.

Three years full-time study of calligraphy at Roehampton Institute, London, gaining the Diploma
in Advanced Calligraphy with Distinction.

Elected a Fellow of the Society of Scribes & Illum-inators (London). I am the youngest Fellow
of the Society and only the third to be elected
from Ireland.

Apprentice to the lettering designer and lettercutter Tom Perkins in Cambridgeshire. Mr. Perkins is
generally regarded as the leader of his craft.

RDS National Crafts Competition, Award for
Excellence Reserve Prize (second overall).

RDS Competition, first prize, lettering category.

Masters program in book design at the Department
of Typography & Graphic Communication,
University of Reading, UK.
